In 2001, BJ Services recognized the need for a new laboratory and training facilities on their expanding Tomball campus. Additionally, there was a need for a state-of-the-art customer center to accommodate the numerous presentations and customers tours that investors and visitors receive each month.
Synchro convinced BJ Services that their new flagship structure needed a dramatic outside radius to sweep the busy intersection that it bordered. Despite some reluctance that a “curved” building would be spatially cost inefficient, the final design in face, employed multiple radii and elevations.
The new building houses 22 state-of-the-art laboratories that conduct 43 distinct technical functions, 9 separate training classrooms, equipment simulator rooms, 3 conference rooms, a remote communications theater, a large lunchroom, and a spacious lobby.
